Issue 16. Traffic, Tantra, Taster, Tractor
Water, Writing, Walks & Myths
Good Morning and Welcome,
To issue No.16 Do you know we have a traffic counter in South Kerry? Well, you do now. It’s on the N70, just after the turning for Kells Bay. Can you guess what section of the newsletter this might heavily influence this week?
Also two games & hapes of other stuff.
South Kerry by the numbers:
4,087: Vehicles per day were recorded by the traffic counter in July.
53: Buses daily for the same period. Tuesdays are the busiest day for buses.
134: HGV’s daily, with the busiest day being Friday.
3,901: Vehicles were recorded on average for Mondays, making it the quietest day of the week to travel. Who knew?
First, a word from this week’s sponsor
Given we are fortunate enough to live somewhere that (ordinarily) enjoys the Sun’s radiation more than most of the country, you may well, like me, have thought about solar panels.
Whilst thinking about Solar panels I found myself drowning in questions. Can I put them on a flat roof? Will I ever be able to get anyone down to South Kerry? How do the grants work? Do they work on grey days (like today)?
Fortunately, I found gilroys.ie not only were my questions answered, but they were answered in a timely and knowledgeable fashion, the kind of knowledge that can only be gained through 30 years of experience. Martin Gilroy and his team were responsive, quick, competent and of exceptional value. If you’ve any questions at all, just give them a call on 066 7115 920 and I guarantee they’ll know the answers.
In case you had the same questions as I did;
Yes, they will come to South Kerry, our setup was up and running less than two weeks after ordering.
Gilroys takes care of all the grants, I just filled out one form on the SEAI site, and they do the rest.
Some TractorMan for One TractorMan

Pat Murphy & Tractor
This is Pat Murphy. He and his tractor have finished a marathon of the Wild Atlantic Way, From Malin to Mizen Head to raise funds for Concern & the people of Gaza.
He made his way through South Kerry earlier in the week, I spotted him in Cahersiveen and then out on his way to Portmagee. You can support him here, please do.
It’s The Signs of South Kerry 🎺🎺🎺
The first in this week’s games double-header.
Where’s this sign?

Getting easier every week. You have to know where this is. Click below to see just how right you are
Congratulations to last week’s Winners 🍰🍰🍰
Well done to, A Local blow-in (their words, not mine), Leonie & making a return to the winner’s circle Craig Newell, who all knew both signs pointed to Derrynane House last week. To the modest 4 who knew the answer but not their name, let your light shine!
Kim’s Name Game

Kim’s Cushion
I’m sure many of you will know hardcore oracler and all round basket of loveliness that is Kim Elliot, but did you know that she has a big bag of talent in that basket too? The beauty above is a design from Florence Print’s ever expanding portfolio of surface pattern designs, but this one needs a name. Got any ideas?
