Good Morning and Welcome,
To issue No.22 This week we have a healing doubleheader, a doubleheader in Con Keating Park, a tripleheader in the Tech, a hape of learning opportunities & a bit of ferry fury.
South Kerry by the numbers:

410,000: € Will get you 6 bedrooms on Valentia, 6 bathrooms too.
850,000: € Will get you 3 bedrooms in Waterville.
?: I can’t tell you how many € will get you 0 bedrooms in Kells, but there are 2 rooms, a pier, a beach & 46 acres to play with.
First, a word from this week’s sponsor
Last week, I walked into the Foróige office to find them all hard at work, stripping wallpaper.
Are ye decorating? I asked
No. We’re moving. Came the reply. A testament to the organisation’s fiscal responsibility if ever there was one.
The old ones are the best, and always worth telling twice, at least.
Foróige, West Iveragh Youth Service is moving to a new home!
The project is a dynamic and flexible service that works to meet the ever-changing needs of young people, in particular those young people most at risk of not meeting their fullest potential. Our programmes build confidence, creativity, resilience, relationships, cultural respect, life skills, a sense of belonging and, most importantly, fun! After three successful years running groups in the community centre in Cahersiveen, we’re moving to the Cahersiveen Rowing Club for the foreseeable future. We have a number of really exciting groups and services on offer - homework clubs, 1-to-1 support, arts & crafts, podcasting, dungeons & dragons and more! All our groups will continue as normal at the rowing club from October 1st and you can find our full schedule and any updates on Instagram @foroigeubusouthkerry
There’s fury at the pierhead, council better get on the move

You might have, as one Oracle reader did, headed down to Renard Pier to get on the ferry this week, if you did, I’m fairly certain you didn’t get on the ferry. In its infinite wisdom, the council chose this week to start €1.9 million worth of works to Renard Pier. The ferry operators have since confirmed that sailing will go ahead this weekend, starting tomorrow from 7.30am.
It’s The Signs of South Kerry 🎺🎺🎺
This one easy enough?
Where’s this sign?

Congratulations to last week’s Winners 🍰🍰🍰
Last week, it was of course, the Scarrif Inn, Irelands best known view (fog permitting). Obviously.

Agnes has had two readers get in touch with this week, one with a problem she needs your help to solve
“Where in South Kerry has the best pint of Guinness?”
Agnes Answers:
Dearest Reader,
Some valid questions. There are many fine establishments that serve a creamy pint of Guinness here in South Kerry . I am familiar with a couple, however I don’t consider myself knowledgeable enough on the subject to name them in any particular order. I put it to you Reader to take on this piece of market research and share your findings with us as it is valuable information for the greater South Kerry community.
God speed and good luck !
So where has the best pint of Guinness?
“Why can we not slow down?”
Agnes Answers:
Thank you for your question Reader.
As mentioned last week, the world of nature in this hemisphere of the world is heading into winter, a time of slowing down and hibernation. Resting for the renewal that will come in Spring. We humans buck the trend and get busier, filling our days with working more, school runs, hobbies and activities.
It is difficult for us energy wise as there is less sunlight and warmth.
We may not be able to slow down for several reasons like work commitments, financial obligations, children needing to be dropped here and there. Our society is set up in a way that does not support or promote rest.
There is pressure to work, have clean homes, have a certain car, look a certain way, eat the latest superfood diet, and have our family time. We are bombarded with examples and images daily that encourage us to live this way and end up feeling like something is wrong with us when we don’t achieve these unrealistic expectations.
Another element to this may be our own work ethic, how much we work and what work means to us. For some of us , it defines who we are.
Whatever the reason, Life is stressful! And the thing about daily stress is, it is exhausting and takes effort to release from our bodies and minds.
Regular rest is an antidote to this perplexing cycle that we live in.
Want to be healed? Then just
