Issue 26. Insane in the Samhain...
LIDO, Halloween, Shouting Lager, Lager
Good Morning and Welcome,
To issue No.26 This week I’m attempting to list everything that’s going on for Halloween, there are many, many things. Did you spot the temporary Lido in Waterville? The pint poll keeps on polling & a decent whack of thanks to yourselves.
So, thanks! To all of you who have gotten in touch about the Greenway & Villa Nova. I’ll have more on both topics next week, once I’ve heard back from the council & potential buyers. If you’ve an opinion on the proposed Greenway routes. I’d love to hear it.
South Kerry by the numbers:
4016.12: Kwh is the estimated output of a 4KWp solar panel setup based in Portmagee, making it the best place to have solar panels in Kerry.
3,967.47: Kwh would be expected of the same setup in St. Finians Bay, giving it the silver medal.
3934.32: Kwh would be generated on Valentia, giving it bronze.
All figures from NRG, but Gilroys are the go to for solar panels in South Kerry.
First, a word from this week’s sponsor
Did you know there’s a spacious interiors showroom just outside Kenmare? You do now and you can get 20% off all next week. On one hand, it’s always great to get a new sponsor, on the other herself now has every justification to visit. You should too. Sale starts Saturday.
Did you see the temporary Lido in Waterville?

I appreciate you may be thinking I’ve been at the AI again, but this was the scene on Waterville promenade yesterday evening. Atlantis.
If you have passed by since and are thinking to yourselves, it wasn’t like that when I saw it? Then focus your attention on our Hi-Vizzed crusader in the bottom image, that, ladies and gentlemen, is Mr. Dan O’Dwyer esq. The embodiment of the phrase ‘good man’. Unblocker of drains extraordinaire & saviour of the prom. Good Man Dan.
It’s The Signs of South Kerry 🎺🎺🎺
I still haven’t figured out which of these are difficult, but I think this one is.
Where’s this sign?

Congratulations to last week’s Winners 🍰🍰🍰
Last week, it was of course, the ‘Ferry End’ of Reenroe Beach.

Auntie Agnes Answers

Auntie Agnes, as it’s this time of the year once again, can you please let us all know if there really is such as person as Santa Claus???
Agnes Answers:
Thank you for your woe Reader.
Absolutely! Santa exists in the same way that your dreams exist—only much jollier and with a better sense of humour. Think about it: he’s got a whole team of elves, a flying sleigh, and a list of everyone’s wishes. If that’s not the spirit of hope and joy, I don’t know what is! Plus, every time you believe, a cookie magically disappears, and that's pretty solid proof!

Where has the best pint in South Kerry?
Well PubPickers, in the week Mike Murts wrestled itself back into the lead, the big news is we’ve had FIVE new entries. You can get not one but at least two decent pints in Sneem, one in Derrynane & even Dromid gets a shout out for the creamy goodness within. So, who gets your vote?
