Issue 46. A Happy St Paaatricks Day One & All

Hotel, Notel, Bank Holiday Grins

Good Afternoon and Welcome,

To issue No.46: This week, Tim’s painting & parades, lots of them.

South Kerry by the numbers:

  • 58: Bedrooms in The Bay View Hotel, Waterville

  • 36: Bedrooms in The Butler Arms Hotel, Waterville

  • 12: Bedrooms in The Sea Lodge Hotel, Waterville

  • 200: Ish people per night missing our season

First, a word from this week’s sponsor

Anyone got anything they want to shout about?

Will there be any rooms at the inn?

This week saw the announcements that the Butlers has been placed into receivership & also that it intends to keep trading while a buyer is found. So with The Bay View also up for sale & The Sea Lodge occupied by more permanent residents, that’s potentially 106 bedrooms out of circulation for the coming season. Is it time for the good people of Waterville to borrow an idea off their neighbours in Dromid and start a gofundme. Community run hotel, anyone?

We Should Celebrate the Open in Close Season.

A couple of new ones we should be visiting this week.
