Best Pint in South Kerry 2025

This week, we have the same top 5 but serious movement within.

The Waterville Inn continue their race to the top, but The Lobster cling on to top spot. All remaining questions still valid. Does this spell the end to Rosie’s challenge? What’s happened to Murts? Will the Royal pip the Piper for fifth spot?

Only you can answer these questions…

Greenway Opens TODAY

Live scene @ The South Kerry Greenway, natives unhappy about the invasion of privacy

Cllr Tommy Cahill has confirmed that the first section of the South Kerry Greenway, between Goldens of Kells and Kells Station, will open today from 10am TODAY. Unfortunately, he has also confirmed we will have to wait for an official opening, which will likely happen when the Glenbeigh section fully opens, which he expects to be in late spring/early summer next year.

Parking is available at both Goldens of Kells and the old railway station. The project has cost €22 million to date, and it’s fair to say that 100% of the local population is fully behind it. If any landowners who are having disputes would like to get in touch, it would be very interesting to hear your views. For the moment, it’s Christmas! Get out there and enjoy it!

Massive thanks go to Tom Horgan for his excellent pic. The first pic of any reader on the newly opened Greenway will win a magnet. What are you waiting for??

It’s The Signs of South Kerry 🎺🎺🎺

This week, a nice easy one for Christmas, aren’t I very good to you? I’ll accept any of these as correct as long as you know where it is?

Congratulations to last week’s winners

  • JOANNE O SULLIVAN

A hearty round of applause for Joanne, please. Last week’s sign for Cillin Liath was possibly the most difficult one we’ve ever had. Not a bother to Joanne though. Well done!

Auntie Agnes’ Angle

Dearest Reader,

I hope you are all keeping well in these darker days.

As we approach Christmas week, I would like to invite you to imagine a big, beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Sparkling and bright. And underneath is a gift with your name on it.

Take a moment, breathe in, what gift will you give yourself this year? More peace, time alone, meeting with friends, perfume?

Now, how will you make it happen?

Sometimes we are so busy giving to others, we forget ourselves.

So this week, I encourage you all to be kinder to everyone including yourself.

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday week.

Mind each other!

Warm wishes,

Isn’t it wonderful that we have Agnes looking out for us all? Thanks Agnes

To those who have been patiently waiting for magnets, it’s honestly astounding to me how I haven’t sent these yet. One day. One day very soon. I’ll take them with me when I leave the house.

Good luck, be well
