Best Pint in South Kerry 2025

This week, it’s all happening. For only the second time in the history of the competition, The Lobster is outside of the top spot. Giant congratulations to our current leaders, The Waterville Inn. Huge congratulations also go to The Royal Hotel, Valentia, who grace the heady heights of the top 5 for the first time.

The competition will run until the middle of January, fingers crossed, by then I will have figured out how to get the 2025 winner’s name on the trophy. Whose name will that be? You decide.

Bray Head Open TODAY

So, I don’t think the tower is open until later in January, but site works are finished. Go and have a look. I might even go and have a look myself, I could do with a good airing.

It’s The Signs of South Kerry 🎺🎺🎺

This week, something different. Have we had this one before? Where is it?

Congratulations to last week’s winners

  • Dave Shortall

Welcome back to the winners’ circle Dave. Last week’s sign was indeed on the Skellig Ring. Special mention for Phillip Quigley, who wasn’t wrong when he suggested it was on the side of the road. Well done!

Auntie Agnes’ Angle

Isn’t it wonderful to have Agnes? Thanks Agnes. Happy Christmas.

The Oracle’s Cartoonist is brilliant

Isn’t he? Happy Christmas Tim. We’re not worthy.

Everything Else

  • Have you seen a defibrillator somewhere it shouldn’t be? The guards would like your help

  • Congratulations to Forbairt na Dromoda Teo, rightly named Fexco Kerry Heroes

  • Well done to all of you who braved the icy waters yesterday. For those that didn’t make it, you’ve 5 minutes to get to White Strand, Castlecove.

Thanks

Thanks for reading. Massive thanks to all contributors. Happy Christmas!!!

Huge thanks to all of you fine voiced individuals who graced the Daniel O’Connell memorial church earlier in the year. You're all looking very well. For those of you that have seen it already, I agree, Mickey Dennehy does steal the show.

To those who have been patiently waiting for magnets, I’m sorry. I’ll be better next year

Good luck, be well. Happy New Year!
